Painters and decorators on Facebook
Facebook hashtags for painters
Facebook is where a painter gets the whole-house job, because the whole-house job is a conversation and this is the platform for one.
Two or three, and they are the least of it
This is the honest page. Facebook hashtags do very little: the platform has no hashtag-browsing culture worth the name, and reach on a business page comes from shares, local groups and comments instead. Two or three tags cost nothing and occasionally help a local search. Treat them as a footnote and put the effort into the caption.
The 3 to start with
Copy this set, then replace the last one with your own city or suburb tag. That single swap does more for bookings than the other 2 put together, because painters sell inside a radius.

Facebook is where a painter gets the whole-house job, because the whole-house job is a conversation and this is the platform for one.
The audience here is homeowners who have been talking about repainting for a year and have finally landed on a colour, which is exactly what the story caption on this page describes. Answer the questions they actually have: how long the filling and sanding takes, whether they need to move out, what happens with the furniture.
Same corner, same time of day, same curtains. The rule matters more here than on the other platforms because a local audience may know the house, and because a longer caption invites the kind of reading that notices a window has moved.
30 Facebook hashtags for painters
Ranked, not alphabetical. The starter set leads, then the tags native to Facebook, then the before and after tags, then the niche tags that convert, then the broad ones that only categorise. Local and plain-language tags. Nobody on Facebook follows a hashtag, but a suburb tag can surface in search and reads as local rather than as spam.

The tags that say transformation
7 of the 30 Facebook tags for painters say transformation rather than service, and they are worth a slot only when the post is a genuine pair rather than a finished shot. They are pulled out of the list above rather than added to it, so nothing here is double counted.

10 before and after captions for painters
Written for a painter posting a before and after on Facebook, not for a generic business feed, and not reused across all three platforms. Everything marked in a specimen is yours to fill in. A pair of photos or a short video, and a caption long enough to be worth reading. Facebook is the one platform where a longer caption helps.
This suburb couple had been talking about repainting since the day they moved in, and they finally landed on colour last month. It took job length including all the filling and sanding. Here is the before and after from the same corner of the room.
A question I get a lot: why does a repaint take longer than a weekend? These two photos are the answer. The walls were filled, sanded and primed before any colour went near them, and that is where most of the job length went.
That is now number of homes homes in suburb I have repainted this year, nearly all of them from a neighbour seeing a before and after like this one. Thank you to everyone who has passed my number on. It genuinely keeps the van on the road.
My calendar is open for interior jobs from month, starting at price for a standard room. The photos below are from last week and show exactly the standard you would be getting. Send me a message with your room size and I will come out and quote it properly.
For anyone curious about the order of things, here is a room start to finish. Furniture out and covered, holes filled and sanded, edges cut in by hand, then two rolled coats with proper drying time between them. The second photo is job length after the first.
Genuine question for the suburb crowd. Would you have gone colour in this room, or played it safe with white? The owners went bold and I think the after photo proves them right, but I am curious what everyone else reckons.
Same room, same time of day, job length apart. The only thing that changed is colour on the walls and a lot of prep you cannot see in either photo.
What the photos do not show: the ladder work on the high wall, three trips back to the shop for more colour, and the tea the owners kept bringing out. job length on site and worth every minute for that second frame.
season is exterior season around suburb and the weather window is shorter than people expect. This one went up between the showers. If you have been thinking about getting yours done this year, it is worth starting the conversation now.
If your room still has the colour the builder chose, have a look at these two photos and imagine yours. I quote free and I will give you honest advice on whether it needs a freshen up or the full treatment. Message me here or call any evening.
The rest of it does not change with the platform
How this trade posts, when the season turns, how to stand for the two frames and which tags to keep off the post are the same answers on Instagram, TikTok and Facebook. They live once, on the trade hub, so this page can be about the one thing that is genuinely different here.

The numbers behind the trade
Where these tags came from
Researched on 1 August 2026. Tiers are an editorial judgement from cross source frequency, not a post count: the directory sites that publish counts disagreed with each other by an order of magnitude during research, so none are quoted here.
Common questions
- How many hashtags should painters use on Facebook?
- This is the honest page. Facebook hashtags do very little: the platform has no hashtag-browsing culture worth the name, and reach on a business page comes from shares, local groups and comments instead. Two or three tags cost nothing and occasionally help a local search. Treat them as a footnote and put the effort into the caption. The starter set at the top of this page is built to that number: One local, one trade, one plain descriptive.
- What should a painter post on Facebook?
- Facebook is where a painter gets the whole-house job, because the whole-house job is a conversation and this is the platform for one. The audience here is homeowners who have been talking about repainting for a year and have finally landed on a colour, which is exactly what the story caption on this page describes. Answer the questions they actually have: how long the filling and sanding takes, whether they need to move out, what happens with the furniture.
- What will Facebook not do for painters?
- Interior work fills the winter and the pre-holiday months drive feature walls and single room refreshes. Facebook is good at both because both are decided at home in conversation, and it is poor at anything that needs an audience outside your own town.
- Are these Facebook hashtags for painters up to date?
- Every tag on this page was seen in real use during a research sweep on 1 August 2026, across trade press, supplier blogs, platform discover pages and live captions. No tag here was invented and no post counts are quoted, because the directory sites that publish counts contradicted each other badly enough to make any single figure indefensible.
- How do I turn a before and after pair into a video?
- Pick the two photos in Before and After Video Maker, choose a reveal style, and export a 1080p video, a looping GIF or a still. The input is two still photographs: the app cannot compare two video clips, and nothing on this site suggests otherwise.
Now make the video in Before and After Video Maker
Pick the before and the after, choose a reveal, and export a 1080p video, a looping GIF or a still sized for Facebook. The free tier covers a starter set of templates and all four comparison modes, and the input is two still photographs.
