Hashtags and captions for carpet cleaners

The richest transformation vocabulary of any trade on this site, and the largest satisfying audience. Ranked tags per platform, ten caption templates, and the release form nobody remembers to get.

39 tags · 30 captions · 3 platform pages · researched 1 August 2026

Rug cleaning ASMR is a genuine content genre with an audience that dwarfs the trade itself, and this is the trade best placed to use it. The tag stainremoval is a before and after promise in a single word, and cleanwithme is a format tag rather than a topic one: it means watch the change happen. Both are worth more than any generic cleaning tag.

Three platforms, three different sets

These are not the same five tags reshuffled. Instagram leans on community and trade identity, TikTok on content type and outcome, Facebook on plain local language. Copy the one you are posting to, then swap the last tag for your own city.

Community and identity tags. Half the value of an Instagram tag is that a trade magazine, a supplier or a repost account watches it.

5 tags

Content-type and outcome tags. Every trade has a tok suffix community tag, and the satisfying and ASMR lane is a real distribution channel rather than a joke.

Every tag this trade actually uses

Grouped by tier rather than ranked, because rank depends on which platform you are posting to and that lives on the platform pages. Tags marked below are Instagram or TikTok native; the rest work on both.

What works for carpet cleaners

Tight framing beats wide

The tighter the shot, the more the transformation pops. A wide shot of a whole lounge room hides the change; a close crop of one traffic lane shows it. This is the most consistent production note in the trade press.

Carousels beat single images, because the swipe is suspense

Authentic on site footage significantly outperforms stock, and a carousel that makes the reader work for the reveal outperforms a single split image.

Three to five posts a week, and the ASMR format has rules

Feature the same team member consistently so the account builds a face. Use trending audio but mute it when the sound of the work is the point. Keep some format variety so the account is not purely ASMR.

Get a release before you film inside a home

This trade films interiors, which is a legal exposure the exterior trades do not have. Most cleaners miss it. Put it in the booking confirmation and it stops being a conversation you have to have on the doorstep.

Seasonality

Double peaked and sharper than the other cleaning trades. March to June is primary and September to November is secondary, with a smaller spike right after New Year and a move out bump through May to August. Run springcleaning framing from February and switch to holiday guest framing from late September.

The shot

Do not move the furniture between frames, or if you must, move it back before you shoot the after. The single strongest frame in this trade is the half cleaned one: one wand pass down the middle of a traffic lane, photographed before you finish. It is impossible to fake and it needs no caption.

Do not use these7 flagged tags

Tags to keep off a carpet cleaner post

Instagram publishes no official banned list and gives no warning when a tag is restricted. Every tag below was flagged by at least one source during research on 1 August 2026, and these lists rotate. Check any tag you use habitually by searching it inside the app: if the tag page says recent posts are hidden, or returns almost nothing, drop it.

  • #nastyFlagged, and observed in live carpet cleaner captions. Dirty is not on any list I could verify but sits close to the same moderation, so keep it off Instagram.
  • #showerFlagged, and reached for on bathroom and tile crossover work.
  • #glovesFlagged, and a natural PPE and process tag.
  • #rateRate this clean is exactly the caption this trade writes, and the tag is flagged.
  • #dmDM for a quote is standard here and both dm and direct are flagged.
  • #dogsofinstagramFlagged, and the obvious tag when the job was a pet stain and the dog is in frame.
  • #cleaningtiktokNot banned, and TikTok lists it as related to cleantok, but it is a bot magnet with heavy spam density and almost no buyer intent. Cleantok carries the same audience with better signal.

Where these tags came from

Researched on 1 August 2026 across trade press, supplier blogs, platform discover pages and live captions. Every tag was seen in real use. Tiers are an editorial judgement from cross source frequency, not a post count.

Common questions

What hashtags should carpet cleaning businesses use?
39 tags are listed on this page, tiered from broad to niche, and each of the three platform pages ranks a thirty tag rotation pool out of them for that platform. Start with the platform starter set, and spend one slot permanently on your own city.
Why are the Instagram and TikTok lists different?
Because the platforms reward different things. Instagram tags are community and identity tags, and half their value is that a trade magazine or supplier account watches them. TikTok tags are content type and outcome tags, and every trade has a tok suffix community tag. Running one list on both is the most common mistake in the trades.
How many hashtags can I use now?
Instagram capped captions on posts and Reels at five hashtags, announced in December 2025 and rolled out through 2026, and it counts the caption and the comments together. TikTok publishes no cap and three to five is the convention. On Facebook hashtags do very little and two or three is plenty.
Can I compare two video clips in the app?
No. Before and After Video Maker takes two still photographs in and puts a video, a GIF or an image out. It has no timeline and no trimming, and nothing on this site suggests otherwise.

The tags are the easy half

The post still needs a pair of photographs that match. Shoot them, then turn them into a 1080p video, a looping GIF or a still in Before and After Video Maker. Eight templates and all four comparison modes are free.
